Belo Intensive Whitening Body Cream (Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid)

Despite the fact that I still have a ton of lotions sitting on my stash waiting to prove their worth, I still can't help but grab a tube of Belo Intensive Whitening Body Cream (Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid) one fine afternoon at Robinsons Department Store. The fact that it hasn't been formally launched yet that time (no ads nor commercials yet) somewhat ignited my desire to test it out. Six weeks later, I'm now in front of my computer writing my two cents about it.

Product Description: A luxurious, moisture-rich body cream with the powerful combination of Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid that intensively whitens skin. SPF30 further protects against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Kojic Acid - an organic compound that is proven to prevent melanin production. It is the most popular whitening agent used in Japan.

Tranexamic Acid - a peptide that inhibits inflammation and melanin formation. It is ideal for stubborn dark spots that do not respond to other skin lightening ingredients.

Packaging-wise, Belo Intensive Whitening Body Cream (Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid) aced it. I love how the color orange is so vivid that it really stands out among all the other lotions displayed on the rack. No wonder, it caught my eye. Also, it is housed in a tube packaging which means that I could squeeze every single drop of this lotion. Yey!

Despite the fact that I use this twice a day, every single day for six weeks now, I can say that I'm still far from emptying this out. I just need around 2-3 pea-size squeezes to cover my whole body. Really, a little goes a long way with this product.

It is described as a luxurious, moisture-rich body cream and it is really all that. Again, it is a cream, not a lotion so expect its texture to be a lot thicker. Despite its heavier consistency, it spreads easily onto the skin. It intensely leaves the skin hydrated, making it really soft and smooth to touch. It also leaves a nice sheen to the skin. However, I find that it doesn't sink to the skin instantly. It needs a little bit more time to dive into my skin without the slippery after feel. And with our scorching hot weather these past few days, it can feel a bit sticky.

This lotion is scented and sadly, I'm not the biggest fan of the scent. I love how the Belo Intensive Whitening Bar (reviewed HERE) smells, but this once is a bit strong for me. There is also something about its scent that reminds me of old-school sunscreens.

As far as its whitening efficacy, I'd say together with Belo Intensive Whitening Bar (reviewed HERE) which I use everyday, it really improved my skin tone. Despite my recent outdoor trips, my skin managed to stay even. I lather this mostly on my knees and I think it helped lighten them a bit.

(Taken last March 18 at Tagaytay with my boyfriend. Hope you can see how the lotion leaves that healthy sheen to my legs, making my skin appear glowing)
